As part of Canada’s 150th anniversary, non-profit organizations and municipalities can apply for a maximum of $25,000 for projects that can include improvements to lighting and heating systems, insulation, doors and windows and electrical panels for generators are all part of this program.
The Minister Responsible Donald Arsenault says they have put a million dollars aside for this program and applications must be received by May 12th.
He says they will be able to review them and see which are the best projects.
Arsenault says if they are going to invest $25,00 they want a good return on that investment and a good return for the community centres.
