If you’re a caregiver for a loved one living with dementia the University of New Brunswick would like to hear from you.
Researchers are doing a study on the use of a mobile device to track health related information for family caregivers.
Research Assistant Leanne Davis says they’re looking for twenty people to take part in Saint John and another twenty in Fredericton.
Davis says the study uses an online platform called iWellness, which allows caregivers to track health related information, find more information about dementia, and even communicate with others who care for someone living with dementia.
The study includes three separate meetings.
The first meeting would include classes on the online software, putting the software on their computer and connecting it to the fitness tracker.
The second meeting includes a questionnaire and asking participants their feedback on the online platform.
The third and final meeting will take place in 12 weeks, which will include a final questionnaire and overall reaction to the platform.
The information will help researchers determine if the online platform will be of help to the caregivers and possibly even help caregivers for people with other illnesses.
