Construction will be taking place along Route 127 in Saint Andrews to help control the water flow which in turn will prevent erosion from taking place and property damage.
The money to pay for this comes from the Municipal Designated Highway Program.
The work will be done on 500 metres along Route 127, also known as Mowat Drive from Crestwood Lane to the town limits.
Funding for the Municipal Designated Highway Program has more than doubled since the 2014-15 fiscal year, rising to $25 million in 2015.
