The Industry Critic for the federal NDP Brian Masse is calling on Transport Minister Marc Garneau to bring forward an Airline Passenger Bill of Rights before the end of the current Parliamentary session.
The call comes in the aftermath of the dramatic video that went viral of a passenger being dragged off a United Airlines flight in Chicago. Masse says passengers are confused about what the rules are but he understands airlines are well within their legal rights to give passengers the heave ho.
He says Transport Minister Marc Garneau should be reassuring airline passengers that it’s not akin to the Wild Wild West.
