Fredericton native Jake Allen made 40 saves for the Blues…..Zack Kassion got the only goal of the game in the third period in Edmonton’s 1-0 win over San Jose. The Oilers lead the Sharks 2 games to 1.

In the Majors, Greg Bird broke out of his slump with a homer as the New York Yankees swept St. Louis 9-3 for their 7th straight win……Mitch Moreland hit a go ahead, two-run single in the seventh inning and drove in three runs to help the Boston Red Sox rally for a 7-5 win over Tampa Bay. It’s Patriots Day in Boston with the Red Sox and Rays playing an early game that starts at noonhour Atlantic time……Trey Mancini hit two homers in Baltimore’s 11-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. In basketball, the Saint John Riptide and Kitchener-Waterloo Titans met over the weekend for the first time since the brawl at Harbour Station which resulted in 52 games of suspensions and $13,000 of fines. The game remained pretty calm with the Riptide losing 92-90.
