The 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge will be marked in Saint John tonight with a special memorial concert at St. John Stone Church on Carleton Street.It gets underway at 7:30 and will feature the band of the 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, the Loyal Company.
Stone Church has recently undergone major renovations which included all of the pews being replaced. One of the pews had a brass plaque engraved “Garrison Officers Pew” and it will be presented back to the church by the Regiment.
This concert will be the final public performance of the band under the direction of Captain Micheal Malloy.
