The province has concerns about softwood lumber tariffs and the impact it will have on the lucrative provincial industry.
Energy and Resource Development Minister Rick Doucet, tells us that softwood exports are a 500 million dollar industry in New Brunswick and he says they are fighting to maintain the 35-year exemption.
Doucet says they are still fighting for a New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada exclusion on these tariffs adding they are fixated on that.
Doucet says our good lumber has been going down to the U.S. for many years so this will impact the American econonmy as well.
