Charlotte County Expecting 100 mms Of Rain This Weekend

A rainfall warning has been issued for Charlotte County by Environment Canada.

A low pressure system will bring heavy rain over much of the province, especially south-western regions, beginning tonight and lasting through Sunday.

Rainfall amounts of around 100 millimeters are forecast for St. Stephen by the end of the weekend.

The forecaster says another rainfall event is likely for Monday.

In response to the storm, the Town of St. George says they are keeping watch on the Magaguadavic Watershed.

In a post to Facebook, it states St. George Power has stopped generating power, and all gates are now open.

The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization is advising drivers to avoid any roads covered by water for safety reasons.
