A 38-year-old man is facing multiple charges after assaulting a police officer on the east side.
Sergeant Dean Secord says a call came in around 630 on Saturday evening involving an incident of domestic violence.
Secord says when the officer showed up, the man assaulted the officer and tried to grab his gun during the altercation.
The man faces charges of obstructing a police officer, attempting to disarm a police officer, assault, uttering threats and mischief to property.
Secord says the assault happened on Red Head Road.
The man will be making a court appearance by phone this morning.
