The CEO of the Saint John Airport wants to see an increase in passenger traffic.
Derrick Stanford says passenger traffic was flat last year, and a way to correct it is by widening the destinations people can fly to.
He says people have told him what they would like the airport to offer direct flights to Ottawa and more frequent flights to Toronto.
In addition, having larger planes fly to Halifax and flights from Saint John to Newfoundland.
Stanford says the wintertime flights to the Dominican Republic and Cuba from Saint John have done well. He sees the potential of having direct flights to Mexico and Jamaica.
Stanford would also like to have discussions with Air Transat about flights to Glasgow, Scotland or Gatwick, outside London.
