Mounties Issue Safety Reminders To ATV Riders

New Brunswick RCMP are reminding ATV riders to make sure they are following the rules and regulations of the trail and the road.

Police also urge ATV enthusiasts to ride sober and note how drinking and operating an off-road vehicle is a criminal offence.

ATV’s must be registered and insured and operators under 16 must complete an approved safety training course.

A fine of $172.50 is the starting point for offences under the Off-Road Vehicle Act but in some cases judges can impose much higher fines.
