With the number of scams circulating via the Internet and over the phone, the RCMP have been receiving a number of calls from individuals wanting to report them.
The problem is, these calls are tying up emergency response lines.
The RCMP is suggesting scams and fraud related incidents should be reported to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Call Centre instead.
RCMP says in order to avoid being the victim of a fraud, you need to educate yourself.
