Gallant Government Invests $450,000 In Transition NB

The provincial government is investing $450,000 into Transition NB – a planning program designed to help youths with a disability join the economy.

Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Donald Arseneault says Transition NB will increase the number of persons with disabilities who can actively contribute to the economy.

It involves a one on one transition planning service, and the development of a social media hub, as well as a planning guide to assist youths.

The implementation and testing of the program will involve young people with a mobility disability between the ages of 16 and 30 in Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton.

Ability New Brunswick executive director Haley Flaro says “this vibrant partnership between the province, Ability NB and the Community Foundations of Canada is turning that around by supporting youths with a disability to make a successful transition to post-secondary education, training and jobs.”

Community Foundations of Canada is also contributing $140,000 to the initiative.
