Bell Let’s Talk To Raise Awareness, Lift Stigma Of Mental Illness

Don’t suffer in silence, because help is available for those suffering from mental illness. And the first step is ending the stigma and shame surrounding topics like anxiety, depression, and suicide – which many people will be doing tomorrow, January 28th.
Bell Let’s Talk has become a hugely popular initiative on social media. The company has set aside 67.5 million dollars to support hundreds of mental health initiatives in Canada. Bell will donate five cents for every text, mobile call, and long distance call made by Bell and Bell Aliant customers, for every tweet using #BellLetsTalk and every Facebook share of the Bell Let’s Talk image.
On Twitter, many people are using the hashtag to share their personal experiences with mental illness. Last year, the initiative raised more than $5 million.
