Syrian Family Is Happy To Be Safe In Saint John

Several Syrian famillies are already in Saint John starting a very new way of life.

The Saint John Regional Y providing local media with a chance to speak with one couple, Amani and Bassam Hamdan, through an interpreter named Grace.

She says they went to Jordan because it is close to where they lived in Syria.

32 year old Amani Hamdan describes life in the camp as difficult.

They think Saint John is beautiful and they have played in the snow.

The couple have been in Saint John for almost two weeks and should be moved into their furnished apartment in the next 10 days.

They have 5 children.
