NB Is The Only Province To See Growth In The First Half Of 2014

The economy in the Atlantic region remains weak with New Brunswick being the only province to see employment growth in the first half of this year.

That’s according to the latest report from the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council. Despite there being more jobs, A-PEC Senior Policy Analyst Fred Bergman says employment levels in the province are still below what they were in 2008 when the financial meltdown happened.

He also says the number of temporary foreign workers in the region will fall from 27 hundred last year to about 950 by 2016 because of federal government caps.
