Between tragedies and weather events, Red Cross disaster volunteers are very busy especially this summer and that’s why they are looking to recruit more disaster volunteers in New Brunswick.
Provincial Director Bill Lawlor says they have 250 volunteers now and they would like to have over 300.
He says they opporotunities are everywhere in the province and they deploy volunteers in the towns where they lives often to house fires but sometimes for larger events like the power outages following post tropical storm Arthur.
171 Red Cross volunteers contributed 3,500 hours in the aftermath of Post Tropical Storm Arthur.
