In the Majors, the Blue Jays lost again in Seattle to the Mariners 6-3 to fall 6 and a half games behind A-L East leading Baltimore……The Orioles and Yankees were rained out……Yeonis Cespedes hit his 19th homer of the season in the 8th to give the Red Sox a 3-2 win over Cincinnati……Jon Lester won his third start since being traded by Boston as the A’s beat Kansas City 11-3.

In the River Valley Oldtimers League, the Browns Flat Alpines over Home Hardware 15-13 and Exit Realty defeated the Molson Merchants 14-8.

It’s now official…….The former C-E-O at Microsoft, Steve Ballmer is the new owner of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers. Former owner Donald Sterling was forced to sell after a recording surfaced of him criticising his girlfriend for bringing black men to Clippers games and having her photo taken with them.

The Mill Rats will open up at home on Sunday November 9th in an afternoon game against the Island Storm and Julian King will be taking over as coach.
