An online petition which urges the TV networks to include all five political parties in New Brunswick in election debates is gaining support.
Joel MacIntosh, who started the petition and is running for the People’s Alliance in Kent South, says not including the parties because their leaders aren’t competent in French is ridiculous.
He admits it might not be politically correct but he says as a Francophone, he’s heard the premier speak french and he’s not sure how well he would do in a language proficency test.
Some networks have already indicated they only want to include the three main political parties in any televised debates.
