Liberal Leader Brian Gallant spoke in Saint John today at a luncheon series for the provincial political candidates at the Delta hosted by Fusion SJ.
Gallant stressed the important of strategic rather than across-the board cuts as a means of balancing the provincial budget, and also emphasized the importance of increased literacy and skills training, as well as better daycare, in reducing poverty.
Gallant also slammed the Alward government for their across-the-board 2% cuts to various departments, saying he has yet to meet a business person that would endorse such a generalized approach to finding efficiencies.
