Dairy GM Says Sale Won’t Increase Milk Prices

Members of New Brunswick’s Northumberland Cooperative Limited have voted in favour of selling the dairy operation to Quebec-based Agropur Dairy Cooperative.

Northumberland General Manager Jack Christie says few changes are expected for consumers including prices.

He doesn’t see this re-organization having any impact on milk prices because they are regulated by the commission.

Christie says the milk will continue to be processed in Miramichi as it has been done for 60 years and all of the producers are on board with Agropur.
