Carey Price made 34 saves as the Canadiens win 3-1 over Boston, giving Montreal wins in all four meetings this season……Chicago downed St. Louis 4-2……Nashville got by Florida in a shootout 3-2….It was Tampa Bay over Anaheim 5-3…..The Rangers lost in overtime to Dallas 3-2….Winnipeg defeated Colorado 5-3…Philadelphia defeated Washington 3-1 and the Islanders edged Buffalo 3-2.
In the NBA, the Raptors won, 87-82 over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs who shot only 33 per cent from the field.
In men’s university basketball, Mount “A” over the U-N-B Saint John Seawolves 81-66……In women’s play, Mount “A” won 71-60 over the Lady Seawolves.
The Saint John Track Club won the team title at the Provincial Indoor Track and Field Championships in Oromocto. Dave Jefferson of Saint John broke 4 records in the master’s 70 to 75 category. Bruce Rosvall of Rothesay broke the records for the 200 metres and 400 metres in the master’s 50 to 55 category.
