If you’re a nature-lover and love giving back here’s a way for you to combine both of your interests at the same time.
The Nature Trust of New Brunswick is going to be in the Charlotte County area doing work at two nature preserves and volunteers are wanted.
Stewardship Coordinator Richelle Martin says on Wednesday they will be at the Caughey-Taylor preserve which is about a 10 minute’s drive from St. Andrews. There, they will be assessing the trail for any areas where safety can be improved, marking the trail and putting up new signs. On Thursday and Friday they’ll be at the Connors Bros Nature Preserve in Blacks Harbour where they will be working on devleoping the trail sytem in the preserve and remodelling the parking lot and putting up brand new signs.
Martin says that volunteers should bring a lunch for all three days as well as lots of water. When it comes to your wardrobe, you should wear long pants, good shoes, sunscreen and bug spray and work gloves if you have them.
The work runs from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday and Thursday and from 10am to 2pm on Friday.
To sign up call Martin by email at ntnbpreserves@ntnb.org or call (506) 457-7484.
