Atlantic Canada’s newest lotto winners picked up their cheque in Moncton today.
Peter McCathie and Diana Miller from Amherst and Amherst Shore in Nova Scotia won the guaranteed one million dollar Lotto 6/49 prize drawn on July 15th.
They are coworkers and have been splitting the cost of lotto tickets for about a year.
“I came in to the store on Thursday morning and Diane said have you checked the tickets yet and I said no, and she says well you’d better because someone in Cumberland County won a million dollars,” says McCathie.
McCathie plans to take his wife of 30 years on a well deserved second honeymoon, and Miller will get away from the cold wintry weather with a trip to Cancun this winter.
