Saint John’s First Wake Up Call Breakfast Brings In Over $23,000

The first Saint John Wake Up Call breakfast bringing more than $23,000.

Peter Mallette of Prostate Cancer Canada tells CHSJ News women have a huge role to play in fighting this cancer even though its a man disease. He says this point was brought home by a Halifax radiation oncologist.

The doctor told him 75 per cent of men who show up for a prostate cancer examination are there because a woman has been the appointment for him.

Mallette says women are proactive about their health while men are not.

The event is a partnership with the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation–50 per cent of the proceeds will be used to support local prostate cancer needs.
