Estimates Over $2 million To Renovate Old Town Hall To Code

It’s a hefty price tag for the cost of restoring history.

Dillon Consulting LTD. presenting their “Building Condition Assessment” for the Old Town Hall Building, located at 34 Milltown Blvd, in St. Stephen.

Rory Pickard of Dillon Consulting mentioned damage throughout the building, which includes leaking in the upper and lower roof, mold and flooding in the basement, missing bricks, collapsed interior walls, and rotted framework, and asbestos.

He also recommended the electrical system would need to be completely redone, and all roofs, curbs, and perimeter trims are in need of immediate replacement in order to protect the building interiors. He adds new heating and ventilation will be required.

Dillon Consulting says the estimated total for renovating the 130 year old building would be over $2 million once you include architecture and engineering costs.
