Wednesday Morning Sports For July 29th

The NFL upholding the four game suspension handed Patriots quarterback Tom Brady over the use of deflated footballs in the A-F-C title game and suggesting Brady obstructed the investigation by destroying his cellphone and SIM card with 10 thousand texts on it prior to meeting with investigators.

New Brunswick has made it to the playoff round at the Canadian Little League Intermediate tournament with a 20-6 win over Ontario. Jordan Fortin hit for the cycle and Will Delaney hit a triple and a grand slam. Today is an off day for the players. A skills competition will be held starting at 10:00 at Memorial Field.

In the Majors, the Yankees rallied from five runs down for a 21-5 win over Texas…..The Blue Jays fell 8 games back in the American League East after losing to Philadelphia 3-2…..The Red Sox lost to the White Sox 9-4. Outfielder Mookie Betts suffered a concussion, falling over the wall into the bullpen while trying to make a catch…..Houston moved into a tie with the Los Angeles Angels in the A-L West after a 10-5 come from behind win.

In the National League, the West leading Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Oakland A’s and their ace, Sonny Gray 2-0…..San Francisco failed to take advantage, losing 5-2 to Milwaukee.

The Washington Nationals acquired reliever Jonathon Papelbon from the Phillies.
