The Island doesn’t need to take another hit.
That word from John Gardner, of the Concerned Citizens of Charlotte County group, on the closure of the Visitor Information Centre on Campobello Island, as brought forward in the provincial budget as a way to cut costs in New Brunswick.
Gardner says on the measure, “Which, let’s face it, is unfortunate because the Island has so little now.”
He says the provincial government singled out the Island by taking away the Visitor Information Centre, adding he doesn’t believe this [closure] went over very well with residents in Campobello.
