The master of ceremonies Bernard Cormier tells us they ask people to come in early for the events that come before the sacred portion that begins at 11 a.m.
“There are the inspection of the fire and police units by the mayor, announcements and they get to see on the scoreboard the various images they will be projecting this year,” Cormier says.
Special attention will be paid this year to the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great war and Cormier says many people from Saint John and New Brunswick were affected by so many losses from the First World War.
“The 26th battalion is a good example of all those thousands of people that sailed out of our port here in Saint John to go to the Great War and defend freedom and democracy and didn’t come back.”
Premier Blaine Higgs will attend the Quispamsis ceremony at the qplex which starts at 10:30 a.m.
The doors open at 9 am and just like the Saint John service, everyone attending is asked to be seated by 10:15 a.m.
