The Community Food Basket Is Moving

April usually brings showers and flowers and it also means a big change for the uptown food bank.
The Community Food Basket is moving from its location on Charlotte to a spot on Union Street near Prince Edward Street.
CHSJ News asked operator Carolyn Danells why they are moving now.

She says they have outgrown the spot they are in and it’s costly them money for heating because of our cold winter.
Danells says the new location will offer their clients a space inside to wait inside of having to wait on the street for their orders.

The food bank closes on Charlotte Street on March 27th and opens on Union Street on April 7th.
Danells says those who rely on the food bank will not go without because they are giving out food on 9 days this month, one day more than usually do.
