Spring may have officially sprung on Friday, but that doesn’t mean snowmobilers are putting way their machines just yet.
There’s plenty of snow left on the ground, and General Manager for the New Brunswick Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Ross Antworth says there are a lot of trails across the province to ride.
He says there are over 7600 kilometres of trails, and they continue to be open because of the cold weather, but snowmobilers are advised to ride with caution at this time of year. With the arrival of spring, temperatures will start to rise…and Antworth says there can be washouts created, which can put riders at risk.
It’s important that riders stick to the groomed trails.
The snowmobile season official wraps up on April 15th, that’s when all of the trails officially close.
