Equipment breakdowns and lack of manpower resulted in a pretty spotty street-sweeping program in 2014.
Transportation Commissioner Bill Edwards says the city got a lot of complaints, and in the end the job wasn’t completed.
The department is now going to contract out the street sweeping program, which they say will be more cost effective, and free up staff to get lines painted and declutter catch basins.
