The Saint John Sea Dogs holding their annual awards banquet last night.
It was a big night for Mathieu Joseph picking up three awards, which included the three stars award, fans choice and most improved player for the second year in a row.
Joseph says a lot of guys could have won the most improved award, but calls it an “honour” to have been chosen two years in a row.
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia native Matthew Highmore also picked up three awards.
Highmore was the top scorer on the team with 75 points in 65 games. He also won the community service and team player awards.
16-year-old Joseph Veleno won rookie of the year award.
Veleno says he couldn’t have done it without the support from his parents, family, teammates and the coaching staff.
Ottawa Senators first round draft pick Thomas Chabot won the top defenseman award.
20-year-old goaltender Marc-Antoine Turcotte won the most valuable player award.
Daniel Del Paggio was the academic player of the year.
