A program offered through Canadian Blood Services encourages groups to give blood.
They offer the LifeBus. It goes to businesses and picks up groups of people who will be taken to the clinic to donate.
Spokesperson for Canadian Blood Services Peter Macdonald says this is a great way to encourage people to give, “It becomes a social activity amongst co-workers and friends and they often continue to give time after time. We encourage people to give for the first time as part of a group, and they continue on long after they retire, because it’s something that becomes quite personal.”
He says they already have quite a few groups that use the Life Bus.
Macdonald says they are currently low on O negative and A negative blood, but all blood types are accepted.
