New Brunswick RCMP Commanding Officer Set To Retire This June

The Commanding Officer of the New Brunswick RCMP is retiring in June after more than three decades of service.

Assistant Commissioner Roger Brown has served in many different roles across the country, most recently as Commanding Officer in this province since 2013.

Brown says the provincial RCMP have endured several challenges over the last few years, most notably the killings of three officers in Moncton in June of 2014.

He says despite that incredibly difficult time, he was impressed with the way residents and the RCMP came together to do what needed to be done.

Brown says they have also made great progress in strengthening community relationships and professional partnerships, while making New Brunswick one of the safest provinces in the country.

Brown’s last day as Commanding Officer is June 4th.

The process to identify his successor will begin shortly.
