A 46-year-old Belledune man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for the attempted murder of his two children.
The man was first charged in December with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of administering poison but the latter charges were withdrawn last month.
RCMP began investigating in November after a single vehicle crash near Charlo.
The man was hospitalized and the children were airlifted to the IWK where it was determined they had been poisoned.
The children recovered and the man was arrested after he left the hospital.
The man can’t be named to protect the identity of the children.
