Alarmed And Ready Campaign

The Saint John regional Alarmed and Ready campaign launching to raise awareness on hazards related to fire.

Provincial Fire Marshal Douglas Brown says the number one thing to protect yourself from carbon monoxide, also known as the silent killer, is to buy an alarm.

He says hazards from carbon monoxide include wood stoves, oil furnaces, propane, natural gas or an attached garage.

Brown says the campaign provides alarms free of charge throughout New Brunswick, through local fire departments.

He says the best spot to put a carbon monoxide alarm is right in your bedroom and smoke alarms should be installed in every single room in your home.
