5 people are now homeless after a fire late yesterday afternoon at 606 Micheal Crescent on the east side. There was heavy smoke and flames burning away inside the one storey, three bedroom bungalow when firefighters arrived. The fire department reports the inside of the house was heavily damaged and an investigation is underway to find out how it started.
City Police got the call about a holdup at a convenience store on Sandy Point Road at about the same time. The robber got away with some cash.
