Federal government revenues are up. The federal deficit has dropped and unemployment remains lower than it has been in a decade.
Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau delivered his financial update for the fall that projects the federal budget deficit at $19.9 billion instead of more than $28 billion a few months ago.
The Trudeau Government is promising to enhance the child benefit and the tax credit for low income earners. The child benefit will be indexed to inflation as of next July.
Morneau is estimating economic growth this year at 3.1 per cent and 2.1 per cent in 2018.
