The Los Angeles Dodgers won the first game of the World Series 3-1 behind their ace Clayton Kershaw who struck out 11 Astros and a two run homer in the 6th inning by Justin Turner. Game two goes tonight with Justin Verlander starting for Houston against Rich Hill of the Dodgers.

In the NHL, Shea Weber scored twice in Montreal’s 5-1 win over Florida to break a 7 game winless streak….Phil Kessel scored at 42 seconds of overtime to give Pittsburgh a 2-1 win over Edmonton…..Las Vegas, under former Sea Dog coach Gerard Gallant continues to amaze with a 4-2 win over Chicago to improve to 7 and 1……Elsewhere, it was Los Angeles 3 Ottawa 2 in a shootout……Buffalo 1 Detroit 0….The New York Islanders 5 Arizona 3….Anaheim 6 Philadelphia 2…..Tampa Bay 5 Carolina 1. The Lightning have won 8 of their first 10 games…..Vancouver 1 Minnesota 0…..Calgary 3 Nashville 2 in a shootout and Colorado 5 Dallas 3.

In the NBA, it was Cleveland 119 Chicago 112 with LeBron James scoring 34 points…..Orlando 125 Brooklyn 121…..Boston 110 New York 89….Indiana 130 Minnesota 107…..Portland 103 New Orleans 93 and the Los Angeles Clippers 102 Utah 84.
