The Uptown core will be hopping with hundreds in town for a swim meet.
20 swim teams area taking part in the 2017 New Brunswick Long Course Spring Championships.
The event runs Friday to Sunday at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre with hundreds of swimmers, officials, parents and staff coming from all over this province and from PEI, Nova Scotia and Quebec.
Victoria Clarke of Discover Saint John says sports tourism is big business for Saint John generating more than $150,000 in economic spin off for hotels, restaurants and other businesses.
Some of the swimmers competing this weekend are training hard to make the New Brunswick Swim Team so they can attend the Canada Games in Winnepeg this summer.
