Animal abuse in Saint John is getting worse according to Shelley Churley of Rescue Meow, saying she speaks from first hand experience.
Churley says three of her cats have been poisoned in the last couple of weeks by neighbours.
She speculates people think they can get away with abusing animals and you can find a new case every day on the internet.
The manager of the animal shelter in Saint John, Joan Richardson advises cat owners to neuter their pets and keep them inside.
