Battle Of The Atlantic Ceremony Will Be Held This Weekend

The Battle of the Atlantic will be marked in Saint John again this year.

The event remembering the longest single campaign of the Second World war will occur at HMCS Brunswicker on Sunday morning starting with a parade.

The Battle of the Atlantic was the fight for supremacy in the North Atlantic and it lasted for 2075 days.

It pitted Allied naval and air forces against German and Italian subs, ships and aircraft and their primary targets were the merchant ship convoys carrying vital cargo from North America to Europe.

The parade begins at 11 on Sunday morning.
