Belyea Set For Two Day Trial in June

A Saint John man facing charges after a daytime assault in the KV last month has a trial date.

Mr. Justice Andrew Palmer setting trial dates of June 6th and 7th for 44 year old Christopher Belyea who was charged after a woman was assaulted in woods behind a business off the Hampton road on March 1st.

The assault was interrupted by some workers at a nearby business who stepped in.

Wearing a grey shirt and glasses, Christopher Belyea sat in the prisoner’s box and mouthed a greeting to at least one person sitting in the front row.

Not guilty pleas on two charges including assault causing bodily harm were entered on Belyea’s behalf.

Belyea’s trial is scheduled to start on June 6th at 930am.
