Moncton and Saint John have seen dramatic increases over the past year in the value of non-residential construction which excludes homes and apartments, according to Stats Canada.
In Moncton, the value rose by 50 per cent from $56 million in the second quarter of last year to $85 million in the second quarter of this year. The dollar amount exceeds that of Halifax.
There was a 93 per cent increase in Saint John from $19 million to $36 million in the second quarter of this year.
