Burney Has NAFTA Advice For Government

Take it from northwestern Ontario’s Derek Burney: Canada’s relationship with President Donald Trump is heading in the right direction.

The former Canadian Ambassador to the United States says it was significant that Canada was mentioned twice during Trump’s address to the American Congress this week.

He says any kind of recognition is postive, especially coming in a State of the Union type of address, since “you certainly don’t want the opposite.”

As for the North American Free Trade Agreement, Burney advises the Trudeau government to do its homework, prepare for anything and assert our rights the best we can.
