It was a banner day yesterday for nine area cadet groups as they were granted the highest honour in Saint John, The Freedom of the City.
The ceremony got underway at 2 p.m with a parade of cadets marching down King Street to City Hall were the commemoration then took place.
A short time later a roar filled the skies as two CF-18 fighters jets did to fly pasts in honour of the cadets who then continued celebrations with their family and friends.
