Canada Day: What’s Open And Closed

Many businesses will be closed on Thursday to mark Canada Day, which is a federal statutory holiday.

Grocery stores, malls and big-box stores are all closed for the day, including Sobeys, Atlantic Superstore and Walmart.

If you are in need of a prescription, some drug stores will be open on reduced hours.

NB Liquor and Cannabis NB stores are also closed, but agency liquor outlets will be open.

Banks, post offices and all government offices are all closed today, which means no mail delivery.

The Saint John City Market is closed today and there is no transit service in the city.

Garbage and compost collection in Saint John will follow its regular schedule.

If you are unsure if something is open, it is best to call ahead.
