Car and train collide in Saint John

No injuries after a collision between a train and car in Saint John.

It happened around 5:30 Friday afternoon near the Simms Corner intersection.

Saint John Police say a train was travelling toward the pulp mill and collided with a vehicle that had gone through the flashing red lights.

They’re asking for anyone with information or with video of the incident to contact them.

Police say there was extensive damage to the car, and the train reversed so the tracks could be inspected.
