Celebrating Young Artists In Holiday Cards

The artwork of two students from Saint John and St. George is featured this year the annual holiday card put out by the Anglophone South school district.

The contest was open to all elementary school students this year.

Superintendent Zoe Watson tells us the winning design is chosen by the staff at the holiday breakfast and the winning design is printed on about 500 cards that the DEC chair and management team sign.

“We send cards to our 70 schools, the parent school support committees, our district education council members and the members of other anglophone district education councils,” Watson said.

Olivia Lennon’s design won the Anglophone South Holiday card and she is in the kindergarten at Glen Falls school.

The artwork of Jaylin Southard, a grade 1 student at St. George elementary school, is featured on the Holiday card sent out by Norm Bosse, the provincial child and youth advocate.

Both Olivia and Jaylin were presented with framed prints of the artwork as keepsakes and they also get copies of the cards to give to their families.
